M*A*S*H, the ultimate medical industry night (from Bobby's) was officially
transplanted to F4 last night. Doctors aren't sure that the operation was
completely successful. We'll keep you posted in future weeks.

Oh yeah, the theme is footy, so show your colours, but remember to dress well
(corporate attire, full button collared shirt guys, no denim, decent shoes,
etc).

Doors open @ 8 (in 18.5 hours), and do get in early, because it is going to be

One of the best M*A*S*H nights ever at Bobby's last night. That's a big call
because it is always great, but last night was just spectacular. The crowd was
simply hot! and very friendly. Great atmosphere and lots of fun.

Less than 20 hours 'til M*A*S*H, the medical industry night at Bobby's. Only one
more sleep. It is one of the best nights around, and only happens on the last
Wednesday of each month, so there's a whole month's worth of anticipation built

It was the best M*A*S*H night in months tonight. Very good crowd and atmosphere.
After a few quiet months, it was back to as busy as it was mid-late last year.

Considering how hot it was today, and that everyone went out Sunday night for
Aus Day, M*A*S*H was fairly reasonably. It would have been unbearably hot if it
was packed, but busy enough. A real quality crowd in, though.

M*A*S*H was okay, but as is often the case, it was a little quiet because it was
a different date to normal due to Christmas. Anyway, those of us that were there
had fun.

M*A*S*H night was great as always tonight. Somehow they managed to not have the
place full of students on holidays, so it was a more genuine medical industry
night.
The next M*A*S*H is December 18th, Christmas comes a week early!
In other news, a little birdie tells me that the entertainers are going to
return to Bobbys. Apparently two people are being trained up to lead the
singalongs and dances again.

Bobby's is my favourite venue, and their Wednesday is one of my favourite nights. The beauty is, that it only takes place on the last Wednesday of each month, which means you have an anticipation for the night, and make the most of it when it comes around. It is M*A*S*H, the medical industry night; the playground for Melbourne's doctors, nurses and anybody else wanting to party on a Wednesday night. Once again it delivers a classy crowd and great entertainment.

Being a medical night, the crowd is a grown up version of Bobby's legendary Monday. The average age is closer to 25 or 30, and the average dress is a collar and tie for the guys. It is one of the best looking and friendliest crowds going around.

It is usually a pretty big crowd too. I suppose two out of three are full houses, or close enough. The other one in three is probably half full. Without fail, during uni holidays it is packed, and if they pick a good theme and have done a mailout, again it is full. Because it is frequently so busy, and it takes place mid week, people tend to arrive early, so it is generally busy by 9.30pm, and packed by 11pm.

Bobby's is two rooms. On really busy nights they open the legends bar, which is hidden behind the bar at the Exhibition St end. It is a cool cocktail lounge, where you can chill out in a quiet, intimate loungy room. However, the main room is where the action is.

The main room is a '60s styled American theme. It looks kind of like a city scene, with building around the edges. In the middle is a sunken dance floor, visible from the whole room. There are three bars located around the room, built into the theme buildings around the room. There are plenty of places to sit, or stand around whilst you sink a few cheap drinks.

The dance floor bounces around to a mix of party favourites and current dance tracks. From time to time, they stop the music, and allow some entertainers to run a competition, lead a sing-along, or make the crowd dance. It is great value, highlighted by the nightly giveaway of a stereo system to someone willing to do something crazy for the crowd. It is very entertaining, and amusing.

I can't recall what the entry prices were, but I think they were very reasonable, especially if you have medical ID. However, the drink specials are unforgetable. Every second hour is happy hour, and happy hour means two for one drinks. Yeeha!

If you are looking for a night out, mid-week, with a top class crowd, you have to check out Bobby's on the last Wednesday of the month. It is brilliant, and the medical industry angle is fantastic. Bobby's have done it again; the perfect mix of style and entertainment.
