Johnson - The Man is partly right. If you like a concept you should be there
when it opens rather than being one of the sheep that only goes once they hear
it is popular.
Anyways there are a few other reasons it didn't work. The launch was rushed, it
was launched on a cold & wet nite and the advertising was done when students
were scattered far & wide.
Like TV Rock's Flaunt It, Wink may reappear when the time is right.

Wink at Trak made a pretty reasonable start on Saturday. It had exactly the
crowd they were seeking: no snobs, no skanks, no losers. It was a quality crowd
(mostly aged 21-27), very friendly and the music was brilliant (as you’d expect
from that DJ lineup).
This week there will be more 90s music, more fun, and they have a surprise
lined-up, but won’t tell us what it is.

I don't know that it was quite like GPO or Motel. It was a bit similar but the
crowd was friendlier. It was a bit like how Billboard used to be. The ad said
it: no skanks, no losers, no snobs. To my amazement it worked out that way.

it wasn't the biggest launch ever but i was suprised by the sort of crowd. it
was more like what you'd expect at the motel, gpo, prince, billboard, next blue
or the star bar (in the good old days). hope it stays that way.

I been to plenty of new nights. Trak wasnt bad. The second DJ rocked and there
were some lookers about. It'll build.

It was ok. We were disappointed that the 90s room didn't open but we had a good
time in the house room. Friendly crowd. Good music.

it depends what u want. it could've been a bit busier but the house room was
busy enough. the music in there was great - danced for ages. fair looking crowd.

Stop press: Unbelievably, the DJ lineup has been even further beefed up. Lee
Davies is replacing Scotty B (who decided he wanted to stay retired - he loves
his knitting). Lee has worked every great club from Chasers to Twister. He is
very entertaining.
Anna - Kylie will be played, along with a bit of Spice Girls and everything 90s
in The Embassy. Thank goodness there's commercial and house in the other room.

its about time there was somewhere new to go. i love retro and top 40 but
twister, marquee and frostbites aren't classy enough anymore. will they play

Wink sounds like its gonna be great.
The DJ lineup is amazing. If Max Moose did a top 10 DJs, every one of the guys
they have would be in it. Scotty E won the most popular DJ award last year, only
just pipping the others. The music should be as good as it gets.
Trak is a brilliant venue. Fascinating layout, great location. Its so easy to
get to. There's heaps of parking, no tolls, and its central (5 mins from Hawtorn
and less than 25 from Berwick).
Definitely get on board this one.

Wink sounds good. I'm looking for something new. I don't want anything snobby
but all the nights I used to like have lost their class. (p.s. I love the line
on the Email that said "no skanks" - it said it all)

Wink is gonna rock!
Its all the things Max Moose fans love. Great DJs, great atmosphere, a whole lot
of fun.
Its for those who have loved the good places on here or are looking for
something better than the ones that have become skanky.
The club has an awesome layout, looks great and is really easy to get to from
anywhere, especially from Hawthorn, Camberwell, South Yarra, or anywhere in the
east or south east (no tolls, free parking).
The DJs are to die for. Scotty Erdos (Wheelers, Spy, Two Tribes, Twister +),
Matty Grant (Star, Billboard, Caseys, Frost Bites +), Jono Earle (Room, Mercury,
Odeon +), Dean Thomas (Fox FM, Odeon, F4, Twister, Bobbys +) and we've pulled
Scotty Bayley out of retirement.
Lineup, venue, everything. Its all mint! Can't wait.
