Paladin is THE alternative nightclub. On Friday night the club is full of Goths and Punks. Abyss, downstairs, is where the Goths mainly are. All dressed in black, leather, nurses outfits, guys in school dresses and long skirts, its GREAT! However, this week there were a few guys just in jeans and shirts. Although people tend to keep to themselves, once you start going all the time you get to know all the regulars.

Oxide is upstairs, this is mainly where the Punks are. They have mohawks, bright coloured hair, studded jackets EVERYTHING. The great thing about this place is the people, they are all so different and interesting to watch.

The crowd probably ranges from 18-25 years old, it starts pumping around 12 midnight, but wear comfortable shoes because you won’t be leaving until around 6am when the crowd dies down. With the place being quite small it always has a nice sized crowd.

The music varies. The Goth part plays music like, Marilyn Manson, The Cure, Sisters of Mercy, Mavises, VAST, Alice Cooper, Tool, and NIN while upstairs is mainly punk, stuff like Blink 182. The DJs are nice and it is easy to request songs that will actually get played, unlike at other clubs. The dancefloor is usually full of people and full of smoke. Its GREAT.

Drinks are well priced, and entry is only $5 with a pass or $7 without. Can’t complain about that!

If you are looking for something different this is THE club you should be going too. You don’t have to be a Goth or a Punk to enjoy it, I’m not. Its just like a HUGE dress up party, everyone looks GREAT!
