Yeah went to Zu Bar in Ringwood last night (next to Dakota), cos it has no cover
charge compared with Dakota's 10 bucks. $3 basics and stubbies was pretty cool,
Got me drunk, but the people there were generally old, and the club is tiny. I
wouldnt say it was a good crowd at all, felt like i was hanging at a train
station somewhere. Maybe go there for the cheap drinks and leave and head
somewhere good..?

BOMBA @ 11a on highlander lane has been pumpin' these past few weeks. They can
be pretty tight at the door but gernerally they're sweet. Guest list helps.
Suppose that explains the quality of their crowd. Commercial music is kept on
the downlow with fresh beats from some of the finest dj's nationally and
internationally ie M.A.N.D.Y. Highly recommended.

Went to A Bar Called Barry on Fridays. A great new night called Freakin. Was an
awesome crowd so many people having an awesome time playing heaps of 80s stuff
and some classic alternative tunes i havent heard in ages. Free entry between 9-
10pm then $5 after. Large video screens where i saw movies like rocky horror and
neverending story.
I believe its the djs from dv8's second level moved on and may i say to better
atmosphere and great room. On top of a brilliant night there was beer on tap!!

Went to a friend's going away party at Robarta. Good friend, yuck venue. It was
hot and stuffy upstairs, and cold downstairs. The crowd was over 28 and wierd,
with a touch of pretentiousness. Not my scene.

Surely this is the coolest venue outside the CBD. Fridays are a solid warm-up
for the weekend (with a bongo drummer playing to the DJ's house beats!),
Saturdays are crazy and Sundays are laid-back with soft beats, sweet vocals and
sexy industry-types. Not to mention the maddest cocktails from the best
flairtenders I've encountered.

Howl at the Moon
I'm quite a regular at Howl at the Moon at Fountain Gate. It is a duelling piano
bar. Two pianists playing sing-along tunes, in a funky environment, with a very
cool bar and menu.
Friday was their official launch after opening last year. Big crowd in, and a
good night all around. The whole street area was really buzzing.

most of my favourite bar-tenders. It was very busy at 3am in an Irish pub kind
of a way (open 'til 5). If you like Irish pubs and great service, its well worth
a look.

Its a little upstairs jazz club on Little Collins between Elizabeth and
Swanston. No, the staff weren't dressed as kittens.
Definitely one for the after work crowd. I felt quite young. Most of the crowd
was 27-40. Fairly respectable though. The music was an interesting change of
pace.

on friday @ the geebug the 3rd i saw c540 they were really kool. i go to the
essendon grand every friday to see those guys that is the reason why i keep on
cuming bak. looking forward to seeing them more of them. they are MAD!!!! i love

Dropped by Champagne Lounge a couple of weeks ago for the first time. The night
I went it was a multicultural melting pot, but apparently it is not normally
like that. Commercial and top 40 type tunes. Can be strict on the door, and they
like an after office crowd apparently, so dress up a little.
My guess is that the city might quieten down on Fridays for the post-Christmas
period, until all the office workers wander back, but I've been wrong before.

Shamus mcphees. Dave, the band was called C540, and i agree they were really
good. Its a great night out and good to have something new in Knox at the
Shopping Centre.

awsome venue it was packed you could hardly move and the band was awsome as well
