Yeah, okay, we know this is the Feb update, and its arriving in March, but its a busy, busy time. We missed those 2.5 extra days, and the chief moose, Ben, has been running for election, so its been chaos. Anyway, here is the update...
The Chat Room made a flying start and everyone using it loved it (mainly for the smilies
), but then quietened off when the head moose hit the election trail. You see, if you stick around for ten minutes, someone will pop in, but most of you drop in for a minute and go, so stick around! The best times are 8-11pm Sun-Thu, 6-9 Fri-Sat.We'll pump it back up in March, so click here to check it out
Everybody is fired up for the GP on Sunday and holiday on Monday. Just about everywhere is open Sunday, here are some of the picks...
- Brass Monkey: Tarko live at the Monkey, with 3 huge sets from 10pm. Alby and Mikey in the main pumping out party tunes, 1 hit wonders & commercial. Disco Dave with RnB in the Rumba. Vodka Cruiser baloon drop with 250 instant prizes, and random drink special throughout.
- Wild Bills Saloon: Coverband Pean join the celebrations for the return of VB! $1 basics and $2 VBs 9-10. $2.50 basics 10-11.
- Dakota, Club (ex Denim Lounge): Five4Five night. 5 cowboys 4 $5 every 55 minutes. $5 Cruisers, $5 spirits, $5 shakers. 10pm-5am. Free b4 midnight, with a complimentary drink to the value of... you guessed it... $5!
- Club Odeon: Babba are live on stage at Odeon for Labour Day Eve.
- Icon: Launch of Groove is in the Heart! '70s, '80s, and '90s all night. Wear retro gear for a free shot. Best moonwalk on the bar wins a drinkcard.
- Bobby McGee’s: Nothing on the Sunday, but Labour Day night, Monday, will be extraordinarily busy.
- Frost Bites: Frosties celebrates Thursday-Sunday, with the GP dancers, and Indy 500 video game comp, and win an electric scooter courtesy of Vodka Cruiser. Sunday are big there anyway, and being in that part of town, Labour Day Eve will be gigantic!
- Star Bar: The best in Sundays will be even bigger, especially being so close to the track. Doors open at 3.
- Depot: A big night gets even bigger. The Walruss and guests from 5pm, Blown drop by, and Crazy Haus bring it home. Open until 2am.
- Tom Thumb: Flashback '80s will be even bigger than normal for the long weekend. More retro than you can handle.
- Amber Lounge: The launch of Honey. Disco, RnB, and Commercial Dance.
- Wheelers Hill Hotel: Freeze play live from 10pm with DJ Scotty B playing all the best RnB & Commercial Dance from 8pm.
- Next Blue, The: VESPA the Italiana Discotecca GP Party! Heaps of Ferrari gear and CDs 2 giveaway. Funky K and the Aterny twins spinning the best Rnb & Hip-Hop. Joe Sofo, Little Joe, and Phil G with funk house, Italian, retro, and commercial.
- Lounge: With your Ministers of Sound: OBLIVEUS (Minister for bass), BEN SHEPHERD (Minister for booty), SCOTROD (Treasurer of groove), NICK THAYER (Speaker of the house), HANS DC (Funk Secretary), MC DIREKT (Master of chambers). Dropping non-political beat legislation from 10pm onwards. Across 4 DECKS. With a mix up of upper house, lower house, breakbeat, funk, disco, hip-hop and electro - mashed up and served warm in the parliamentary dining room of LOUNGE.
- Viper Room: the finishing line is in sight, so its go hard or go home, as we whip up a frenzy with Shaun Reed, Charlie Zee, King Karim, Anthony Cuda, and Murray Van Zaff. Are you capable of lasting the distance?
- Metro: Goo goes into Labour! Switch and Goo party @ Metro. $1 bourbon & vodka 9-10, $2 10-11, $3 11-12, and $4 thereafter. Antiskeptic with Full Scale, The August Rain & Wishful thinking in the ReBar.
