Bans, closures, curfews begin - Won’t help. Solution: overhaul licensing. Venues on Queen St in the CBD will have a 2am lockout. Police and Liquor Licensing & also asking for laws to shut down trouble spots for 7 days and to ban trouble makers from the CBD, Chapel St and St Kilda. Read more here, here and here. A better idea would be to overhaul the Liquor Licensing Commission, crack down on cheap drinks at bottle-shops and end the restrictions on underage events. Violence is occurring because the 1st club experience involves alcohol now. Five years ago it was at alcohol free underage events.
